The name MOTIF comes from the French word for pattern. The definition in English involves a distinctive feature or dominant idea in an artistic composition. For the design studio, patterns are a rhythmic and ancient formula that are powerful and endlessly intriguing, offering both subtle + bold interpretations that can be endlessly modified and transformed. As one of the oldest forms of decoration, patterns create a link between our living spaces and our surrounding natural and built environments.
